If you have a child in any of your Key Stage 1 classes who appears to have a speech sound difficulty, then you can use our assessment to highlight their areas of need and conduct interventions accordingly. Why do I need to prioritise Speech and Language in my school?

7% of children at 5 years old have biological based specific language impairment (Tomlin J.B. et al, 1997)

A further 1.8% of children have SLCN related to hearing, physical impairment or learning disability (Enderby P et al, 2013)

Up to 56% of children may start school with significant language delays linked to social disadvantage (Locke A, Ginsborg J, Peers I, 2002; Law J, McBean K, Rush R, 2011)

It is therefore estimated that an average of 2-3 children in a class of 30 have SLCN.

“Speech, Language and Communication Needs are the most common type of primary SEN in primary schools, making up 29% of the total.” (DfE school census data, 2012)

How can I effectively present SEN and Pupil Premium outcomes to Ofsted?

Reports, provision maps and pupil cards are instantly available at the touch of a button for your every reporting need.

Anonymised whole school reports can be produced to show assessment results, how many children are experiencing moderate or severe communication difficulties, provision allocated and measured outcomes. 

Data can then be drilled into to examine cohorts, classes and individuals in more detail. You can identify areas of need at class level to inform whole class strategies, as well as individual children's areas of need to inform targeted interventions.

A child’s journey can be tracked from Reception to Year 6, or Year 7 to 9, in a single report.
