PRESS: National Media Interest in the Speech Link Multimedia Ltd review of 50,000 Reception Assessments, showing the link between children's speech and language and lockdown.

Following the BBC report on Tuesday about the urgency of addressing children's speech and language after lockdown (see previous company news article), the story was picked up by other mainstream media outlets, who were also interested in our results from Autumn 2020.

The focus of our report was identifying the increase in the number of children with the most severe language difficulties. Our programme recommends that these children are discussed with a local speech and language therapist. However, schools also use the Infant Language Link interventions with children who have language difficulties but would not meet the referral criteria of local speech and language therapists. This group of children benefit most from targeted interventions to raise their attainment.
