About Us

Speech Link Multimedia Ltd is a UK based company founded by two speech and language therapists and a web developer back in 2004. Since then, our team has grown to over 20 and we continue to develop innovative award-winning assessment and intervention programmes for children with SLCN. Our mission is to help all school staff identify and support Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) successfully so that no child is left behind at school or in life.
Support for schools
Speech Link and Language Link, our innovative and award-winning support and training packages, are established in over 4000 schools in the UK and internationally.
Written by speech and language therapists, our online packages combine standardised assessments, evidence-based interventions with measured outcomes and over 500 resources for teachers and parents. This specialist knowledge provides clear advice for teachers when deciding whether a child needs to be seen by a speech and language therapist or supported with a programme in class, ensuring no child with SLCN from 4-14 years is missed or misdiagnosed. And that’s not all! Our dedicated Help Desk of therapists, teachers and teaching assistants gives schools unlimited support every step of the way.

Derry
Derry is the initial developer of Speech Link and Language Link. When working in the NHS team she was posed a challenge – is there a cost and time effective way of helping schools to support SLCN? She went to Pete who, as a software developer could help her bring the vision of an online screening tool to life. Derry continues to develop new products and carries out research. Fun Fact: When she’s not designing new resources, Derry designs gardens!
Heather
Heather has been at Speech Link and Language Link since almost the dawn of time! She designs and conducts our training sessions and acts as a contact for schools in need of speech and language therapy advice on our help desk. She also provides input into product development. Fun Fact: Heather loves nothing more than gardening and spending time with her Grandson.
Louise
Before coming to work for Speech Link and Language Link, Louise worked for the NHS for 8 years within primary and secondary schools. Looking for a new challenge, Louise's role involves delivering training sessions, providing advice to schools as SaLT contact, supporting product development, writing for The Link Magazine and keeping up to date with current research. Fun Fact: Louise can bend her elbows back slightly the wrong way, which never fails to freak out her family and friends.
Sophie
Sophie comes to us from the NHS and has previously worked with children in the Early Years, primary schools, secondary schools and specialist provisions. Sophie’s role at Speech Link and Language Link includes delivering training, providing SaLT advice to schools, writing for our publications, supporting product development, and ensuring that we are kept up to date with current research. Fun fact: Sophie has lived in every nation in the UK!
Juliet
Juliet worked in the NHS for 20 years before coming to Speech Link and Language Link. She loves to get stuck into projects and support product development, as part of her varied role. Fun fact: Juliet loves to learn to play new musical instruments, has a recently developed passion for gardening and is rarely seen without a bag of crisps in her hand.
